My journey in the wine industry
After completing my studies in translation and linguistics, I stumbled into the wine industry as a junior wine editor. However, it wasn't until I joined a big wine importer that I truly began to grow as a wine professional. Seeking to expand my expertise, I relocated to Burgundy, France, to pursue an MBA in wine business in 2018, which immersed me in the heart of wine production. Combining my degrees and WSET training with years of industry experience, I started my freelance career in 2021, right in the baffling time of the pandemic, to explore the world of wine from a broader perspective.
Over the years, I was once lost and confused, wondering if this is my cause. My taste preference has evolved, too. I switched from an off-dry Vouvray to an earthy, elegant Etna Rosso with bracing acidity. But I still get inspired when I taste amazing wines and meet amazing people. I got excited when I shared a casual conversation with the wine bar manager in Paris, when I was dazzled by a delicious yet unknown wine at a wine tasting, or when I was about to cut off the amazing fruits hanging on the old vines in Etna.
That is why I stopped wondering, but get even more curious each and every day, wine is not only a "job" to me, it is my passion and it is in my blood(literally!). Fortunately, in such a short period of time, since I started, I managed to secure wonderful projects, projects I enjoyed that helped me grow, thanks to the trust and support of my clients, colleagues and associates.
And my journey continues...
